Teaching-Learning Process / Activities

The lesson will be taught through poem recitation, action reading, games, discussion and fun classroom activities so that every child enjoys learning.

4 Activity – Healthy or Unhealthy?
Show action cards like running, playing, reading, eating junk food, watching TV all day. Children say whether each habit is healthy or unhealthy.
7 Minutes Understanding and speaking
5 Activity – Pair Talk
Students work in pairs and ask each other:
“What is your favourite game?”
“Why do you like it?”
5 Minutes Communication skills
6 After Teaching
The whole class recites the poem together with actions. Encourage every child to speak one sentence about staying healthy.

Assessment

  1. Name any two games mentioned in the poem.
  2. Why should we play every day?
  3. Who was singing in the poem?
  4. Say any two healthy habits.
  5. Recite any four lines of the poem with proper actions.

Homework

Read the poem aloud with your family members. Learn the new words, complete the textbook and workbook exercises, and spend at least 20 minutes playing or doing any physical activity every day.

Remedial and Enrichment Activities

Remedial Activities

Give extra support to children who find reading difficult. Read the poem together, repeat each line slowly, use actions and pictures to explain the meaning, and encourage them to speak simple English words with confidence.


Enrichment Activities

Ask advanced learners to prepare a short talk on their favourite game or hobby. They may also draw a picture showing a healthy activity and write five simple English sentences about keeping the body and mind fit.

Follow-up Plan

Students should revise the lesson at home and complete all Textbook and Workbook exercises.


In the next class, the teacher will discuss the completed exercises, clear students’ doubts and introduce the next lesson through a short classroom conversation.
